Our Etsy Legacy
Long before motherjoyreadings.com existed, Mother Joy was already casting for thousands of strangers who found her the same way you just did — through word of mouth, a search, a little bit of hope.
MotherJoysMagic on Etsy
Under the name MotherJoysMagic — Readings and Spells by Mother Joy, this work began quietly on Etsy, out of Houston, Texas. There was no fancy storefront, no advertising budget — just Mother Joy, an intake form, and a promise to give every single person who reached out her full, personal attention.
Word spread the old-fashioned way: one person telling another. Over time, that grew into 7,366 completed orders across more than 20 bestseller-ranked listings, a 4.9-star average across thousands of reviews, and a "Top Shop for Gifts" distinction from Etsy itself — a recognition Etsy reserves for shops with an exceptional, sustained history of five-star buyer experiences.
MotherJoysMagic is no longer active on Etsy — the work has since moved fully into its own home here, where Mother Joy can offer far more: a wider range of workings, real readings, and a space built entirely around her practice rather than borrowed from someone else's marketplace. The hands performing your working are the very same ones behind those 7,366 orders.
This goes straight to Etsy. Because the shop is closed to new orders, Etsy shows a "not currently selling" notice at the top — scroll down and the 7,366 sales and reviews are still there.
Why We Left Etsy
- More room to serve you properly. Etsy was never built for spiritual work — this home lets every working and reading have the space it deserves.
- Real readings, not just spells. Yes/No answers, soulmate readings, mediumship, and more — offerings Etsy's format never allowed.
- Faster, more personal delivery. Same-day service and a rush option, without a marketplace's rules in the way.
- Nothing changed about the care. Mother Joy still performs every single working herself, by hand — exactly as she did for all 7,366 Etsy orders.
